Highland Park 25 Year Old is a single malt from Orkney, in its 2022 release. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky spent 25 years in sherry-seasoned European and American oak casks. The distillery uses Orkney peat from Hobbister Moor and native heather, and floor malts its barley by hand.
The nose is aromatic honey, dried tropical fruits, cinnamon, nutmeg and delicate heather smoke. The palate brings rich spices, toasted oak, dark chocolate, candied orange peel and heather honey, with a little peat smoke. The finish is long and gently warming, with sweet spices, vanilla and a wisp of peat smoke.
