Highland Park – 30 Year Old 2023 Release (70cl)

This is a 30 year old Highland Park single malt, the 2023 release, in a 70cl bottle. It was married from just six casks: three first-fill sherry-seasoned European oak hogsheads, one first-fill sherry-seasoned American oak hogshead, one virgin American oak hogshead and one refill hogshead. The distillery's Master Whisky Maker, Gordon Motion, selected each of them by hand. The nose is floral and aromatic, with jasmine, rosewater, coconut and crushed fennel seeds. On the palate come Seville oranges, orchard fruits, crème brûlée with grated nutmeg and a breath of peat smoke. The finish is sweet and spicy, with blood orange, nutmeg and cedar wood.
