Highland Park Cask Strength Release No. 3 is an Orkney single malt bottled at its natural cask strength of 64.1% in a 70cl bottle. It has no chill filtration and no added colouring.
The barley is partly kilned with peat from Hobbister Moor. The whisky was matured in first-fill sherry seasoned casks made from European and American oak.
The nose is toasted oak, dried fruits, heathery honey and peat smoke, with warm spices and a hint of dark chocolate. The palate is concentrated, with vanilla custard, cinnamon, nutmeg, pepper, crystallised ginger and candied orange peel, set against a smoky background. The finish is long and warming, with sweet smoke, dried fruit and oak spice.
