This is the fourth release in Highland Park's Cask Strength series, bottled at 64.3% ABV without chill filtration.
It was matured mainly in first-fill sherry-seasoned European oak, together with first-fill sherry-seasoned American oak, ex-bourbon casks, a small quantity of refill casks and ex-Port hogsheads.
The notes describe heather honey, orange peel, dried fruits and roasted nuts, with vanilla, toffee and baking spices. Fragrant heathery peat, gentle smoke and coastal salinity sit beneath, and the Port casks add dark fruit.
