Highland Park Dragon Legend is a whisky from Orkney, the distillery on Scotland's northernmost islands, bottled at 43.1% in a 70cl bottle. It belongs to a run of releases dedicated to Viking figures and legends.
The name recalls Sigurd, the Viking warrior who slew the serpent dragon Fafnir and gained great wisdom after tasting its blood.
Local peat from Hobbister Moor gives an intense aromatic smoke. A spicy sweetness balances it, which the distillery attributes to long, slow distillation and maturation in sherry casks.
