Highland Park – Fire 15 Year Old (45.2%)

Highland Park Fire is a 15 year old Orkney single malt bottled at 45.2% ABV. It follows Highland Park Ice and draws on Viking myth, in this case the destruction and rebirth of the Earth. The whisky was matured in refill casks that had been seasoned with Port. It shows a light reddish tone in the glass and sits inside the lightly salted malt character associated with Highland Park. Red fruits, dark chocolate, nuts, almonds and brown sugar are the notes usually picked out, with bright fruit and a touch of smoke on the nose. The finish is long and delicate.
