Highland Park – Full Volume (52.9%)

Highland Park Full Volume is a single malt from Orkney, bottled at 52.9% abv. It was made entirely from ex-bourbon casks rather than the traditional sherry casks: 481 casks, a mix of 200-litre barrels and 250-litre hogsheads, filled during 1999 at strengths between 63.6% and 63.7%. The release shows the work of Master Whisky Maker Gordon Motion, whose task is likened to a musician fine-tuning frequencies so that each wave of flavour finds its place. The bourbon casks bring creamy vanilla and sweet citrus fruit, balanced by Highland Park's characteristic aromatic, toasted flavour.
