Highland Park – Loki 15 Year Old (48.7%)

Loki is a 15 year old Orkney single malt from Highland Park, bottled at 48.7% as a limited edition. It is part of the Valhalla Collection, a series of four whiskies inspired by the Norse gods, and it comes in a wooden frame that echoes the outline of a Viking ship. Worldwide, 21,000 bottles were released. It matured in traditional Spanish sherry casks and in heavily charred casks, which add a smoky punch while keeping a light colour. The nose has classic hints of sweetness and spice, and the finish is complex.
