Highland Queen Majesty is a 16-year-old Highland single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 40% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It won a Silver Medal at the IWSC in 2012.
The malt matures in ex-bourbon barrels and ex-sherry casks, and part of the bourbon-matured spirit is given a further two-year finish in new American oak. The components are then married in a Solera vat before bottling.
The nose combines sherried dried fruit and chocolate with baking spices, buttered toast and cream. On the palate it is sweet, with toffee, barley sugar and ripe pear, and a hint of smoke. The finish is medium to long, with dried fruit, gentle spice and soft oak.
