Hinch – Craft & Cask Imperial Stout Finish Edition (70cl, 43%)

This is a first edition from Hinch, an Irish whiskey finished in casks that previously held imperial stout. The casks came from the Whitewater Brewery in Ireland, where they had matured a 10.5% imperial stout. The bottling is 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle and is limited to 1,500 bottles for Germany. Hinch is an independent distillery in County Down, in Northern Ireland, which aims to combine the softness of Irish triple distillation with the fuller body of Scottish whisky. The nose offers fresh fruit, buttered toffee and a hint of banana, then dark cocoa and strongly roasted coffee. On the palate it is creamy, with toffee, coffee and vanilla, lemon zest, cinnamon and caramelised sugar. Dark chocolate dominates the finish.
