Hirsch The Horizon Bourbon (75cl, 46%)

Hirsch The Horizon is a straight bourbon, bottled at 46% ABV in a 750ml bottle and non-chill-filtered. It blends two MGP mashbills from Lawrenceburg, Indiana: 94% is a traditional mashbill of 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley, aged at least four years, and 6% is a high-rye mashbill aged six years or more. Sweet cornbread, vanilla and caramel open the nose, with light tobacco and custard beneath. On the palate caramel and vanilla give way to cinnamon, clove, citrus zest and black cherry, with oak tannins at the peak. The finish is long and warm, sweet at first and closing on dry oak.
