Backbone Bourbon Prime Blended Bourbon Whiskey (75cl, 52%)

Backbone Prime is a small batch blended bourbon from Backbone Bourbon Company, bottled at 52% (104 proof). The spirit was distilled in Lawrenceburg, Indiana and bottled in Bardstown, Kentucky. It blends straight bourbons of varying ages with a little young straight rye and a splash of older light whiskey. It is presented in a black label with gold lettering and a wax sealed cap. The nose is warm baking spice, vanilla and soft citrus, with apricot, maple, tobacco leaf and ripe blackberry. Cocoa and malt lead the palate, with dark and light fruit, dry tobacco, coffee and a gentle pepper lift from the rye. The finish is long and dry, with licorice, roasted coffee and a subtle sweetness.
