Holladay Soft Red Wheat Bourbon, UK Exclusive #2, is a barrel-strength bourbon bottled at 61.2% ABV in a 70cl bottle and made for the UK market. It comes from Holladay Distillery in Missouri, which was founded in 1856 and is the state's oldest.
The mash bill is 73% corn, 15% wheat and 12% barley, with wheat taking the place of the more usual rye. The whiskey is distilled, aged and bottled on site, and spends at least six years in Missouri white oak barrels.
The nose offers peach, apricot, oaken vanilla, buttery char and cinnamon. On the palate, creamy toffee and toasted oak lead to roasted nuts, dried berries and vanilla. The finish brings woody spice, pepper and nutmeg, with prunes and redcurrants.
