Holyrood – Embra (70cl, 43.6%)

Embra is the second single malt from the Holyrood Distillery in Edinburgh and its first peated bottling. The whisky was distilled from malt that is 56 per cent peated, and it comes in a 70cl bottle. It matured in a combination of first fill bourbon barrels, Islay quarter casks and new American oak barrels. It is bottled at 43.6% ABV, non-chill-filtered and with no added colouring. The design of the 8188 bottles draws on St Leonard, patron saint of coopers, and on St Leonard's Lane in Edinburgh's Southside, where the distillery stands.
