Hooten Young Cabernet Cask Finish 6 Year American Whiskey (75cl, 46%)

This is a 6 year old American whiskey from Hooten Young, bottled at 46% ABV in a 75cl bottle. The base is made from a mash bill of 99% corn and 1% malted barley. It is then finished in single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon barrels from Honig Vineyard, and was developed with Master Sommelier George Miliotes as part of the brand's Wine Barrel Whiskey Collection. The nose offers baked apple, maple, dark berries and subtle oak. On the palate come blackberry, maple, ripe fruit and rich espresso, and the finish is smooth and lingering, with dark fruit, roasted coffee and gentle sweetness.
