House of Hazelwood The Tops 33 Year Old (70cl, 51.6%)

The Tops is a 33 year old Speyside blended malt whisky from House of Hazelwood, bottled at a natural cask strength of 51.6% ABV in a 70cl decanter. It is non-chill filtered and free from added colour. It brings together a selection of the best malt whiskies from the blender's inventory, the ones usually kept back and used sparingly. The blend was matured in a combination of first and refill Spanish sherry casks, giving a heavily sherried character. The nose is rich, with treacle, toffee and caramel. The palate starts sweet, then turns to lively, drying oak and a sweet sherbet aftertaste.
