Hugh Hamer Rum Cask Finish is a bourbon at 51.5% ABV (103 proof), in a 750ml bottle. The whiskey comes from MGP in Indiana, and its mashbill is 99% corn and 1% malted barley.
It matures for four to six years before a second period in Caribbean rum casks.
The nose brings dark rum spice, molasses and dried stone fruit, with brown sugar and baking spice. The palate is sweet and salty, with caramel, persimmon pudding and raw cane sugar, then pineapple, mango and papaya. The finish is medium-long, with caramel, balanced oak and dried pineapple, mango and a hint of plantain.
