Hyde No. 6 Special Reserve Sherry Cask Finish (70cl, 46%)

Hyde No. 6 Special Reserve is an Irish blended whiskey of 18 year old single malt and 8 year old single grain. Both were first matured in charred American bourbon casks, then spent a further nine months in Spanish toasted vintage Oloroso sherry butts of 491 litres each, the second wood in what Hyde calls its double wood maturation. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtration. The nose is floral, with vanilla, honey, caramel, chocolate, mixed fruit and spice. The palate is soft, creamy and fruity, with caramel, honey, apricot and apple. The finish is rich, oaky and long.
