This is a 27 year old single grain Scotch whisky from Invergordon, distilled in 1988 and bottled at 51.3% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is number 48 in the Maltbarn Series.
Invergordon was established in 1961 by Invergordon Distillers Ltd and is the only grain distillery in the Highlands.
The nose offers fresh wheat, citrus, breakfast cereals, lemon rind and ginger, with white pepper, a hint of cloves and unripe gooseberries. The palate is light, with beeswax, rosewater, roasted wheat, hay and column-still rum. The long finish has rum sweetness, cereals and a dry oak bitterness.
