Irish Whiskey 21 Year Old (That Boutique-y Whisky Company) (70cl, 45.8%)

This is a 21-year-old Irish blend from That Boutique-y Whisky Company, in a 70cl bottle. It marries malt and grain whiskeys from four cask groups: ex-rum casks, refill bourbon hogsheads, and Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry butts. It is part of the core range and appears in recurring small batches of around 1000 litres. It is bottled at 45.8%, non-chill-filtered and in natural cask colour. The comic-style label is green and shows a Connemara pony. The nose offers pineapple, white peach, banana and pear with vanilla and runny honey. On the palate come banana, mango and guava, candied nuts and light pepper, with brown sugar and dry spice. The finish is dry and spicy, with a bitter hint of green tea and mellow, ripe oak.
