A 24 year old Irish whiskey, distilled in 2002 and finished for 18 months in a vermouth cask. It is bottled by A Dream of Ireland at 42.1% ABV in a 10cl bottle.
The nose starts with passion fruit and peach before turning more unusual, with herbal spice and a clear vermouth note. Blackcurrants and tropical fruit sit behind, and the exotic sweetness wins out in the end.
On the palate the fruit and the herbal bitterness come together, and the whiskey feels full in the mouth. The finish is long, with honey sweetness, lasting herbs, a slight sour freshness and a mineral hint.
