Islay Mist Original is a peated blended Scotch whisky bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It brings together Laphroaig with malt whiskies from the Highlands and Speyside and grain whisky from the Lowlands, and it matures in bourbon casks.
The brand began in 1927 on Islay, when a blend was prepared for the 21st birthday of John Morrison, later Lord Margadale. The seal of the Lord of the Isles on the bottle recalls that origin.
The nose offers gentle peat smoke with seaweed, mild malt, and salty, briny notes. On the palate peat leads, followed by sweet malt, oak and a little sea salt. The finish is mild and lasting, with soft peat smoke, toffee and roasted coffee.
