Isle of Harris The Hearach is the first single malt from the Isle of Harris distillery in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. The name refers to the people of Harris, and every stage from fermentation to bottling takes place on the island.
It was matured mainly in American oak casks that previously held bourbon, with European oak casks that held sherry adding a further layer.
The nose brings fresh fruit, zesty citrus, soft vanilla and honey. The palate is round, with stone fruit, light spice and a saline note, and the finish is long and balanced, with a trace of smoke.
