This is an 18 year old single malt from the Jura distillery, on the island of Jura off the west coast of Scotland. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV.
The whisky was matured in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, then finished for a few months in red wine casks.
The nose brings vanilla and caramel with hints of tropical fruit and oak. On the palate it is full-bodied, with honey, malt, toffee and a touch of smoke. The finish is long and warming, with a gentle spicy kick.
