Isle of Jura 21 Year Old Tide is a single malt from the only distillery on the island of Jura, in the Inner Hebrides. Jura makes an unpeated malt, in contrast to the generally smoky whiskies of neighbouring Islay.
It was matured in ex-bourbon barrels of American white oak, then finished in hand-selected virgin American white oak casks.
The nose offers gingerbread, buttery caramel digestive biscuits and banana. The palate brings melted white chocolate, toasted walnut, sugared almonds, gingersnaps and marzipan, and the finish is spicy with allspice, pepper and a touch of honey.
