Isle of Jura Seven Wood is a single malt from the Jura distillery, the only whisky producer on the Hebridean island of Jura, just north of Islay. The distillery was founded in 1962 by landowners Robin Fletcher and Tony Riley-Smith and is now owned by Whyte and Mackay.
Jura makes a subtle, unpeated single malt, in contrast to the smoky, peaty whiskies of Islay.
Tasting notes mention nutmeg, strawberry jam on toast and Brazil nuts, then lemon peel, sawdust, apricot and cooked peach, with heavy vanilla and a hint of smoke developing.
