Refill Chinkapin oak
The Chinkapin is the third permanent single malt in the Isle of Raasay core range, bottled at 50.2% ABV. It is lightly peated, combining peated and unpeated spirit, and fully matured in fresh and refill Chinkapin oak casks. Chinkapin is a North American oak species rarely used for Scotch maturation. The casks are heavily charred and highly toasted, adding barbecue richness, toasted wood and fragrant spice, while the refill casks temper that intensity. The nose has wood smoke over baked plums and raisin compote, with citrus oil. The palate shows barbecue notes of ribs and smoked ham, honey, lime zest and cinnamon. The finish brings sandalwood, gentle char and lingering smoke.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
