J.P. Wiser's 10 Year Old Triple Barrel is a blended Canadian whisky made in Ontario, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. Corn and rye spirits are distilled separately, aged for ten years and then blended. Three kinds of wood are used: first-fill ex-bourbon casks, virgin white oak barrels and seasoned Canadian whisky casks. The brand dates back to 1857.
The nose is honeycomb, buttered corn and fresh bread, with green apple, melon and dry oak. Toffee, caramel and vanilla cream lead the palate, with nutmeg, clove and toasted rye. The finish is warm, with dark fruit, oak spice and butterscotch.
