J.P. Wiser's 18 Year Old is a blended Canadian whisky, bottled at 40% in a 750ml bottle. The Wiser's brand was established in Ontario in 1857, and its first bottles were sold in 1893, having previously been sold only in casks.
Vanilla leads on the nose, with milky coffee, fresh citrus, butterscotch, honey, and subtle licorice and cinnamon. The palate is honeyed and robust, with juicy pear, apple and nectarine, baked stone fruit, citrus pith, and background hints of black pepper and spicy cedar.
The finish is long and mellow, slightly nutty, with hot oak and caramel.
