Jack Ryan 12 Years Old is an Irish whisky matured in bourbon casks, bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is bright gold in the glass.
The nose is full of tropical fruit, including passion fruit, pineapple, lemon peel and orange, with a touch of cinnamon and ginger. The texture is soft and oily, and it drinks easily even at 46%. On the palate come fresh pineapple, lemon, oranges, marmalade and ginger, with a little honey and oak.
The finish turns maltier and biscuity, with the oak flavours also coming through.
