Trade Mark X 100 Proof Batch Two is a blended Scotch from James Eadie, bottled at 57.1%, the equivalent of 100 Imperial Proof. The edition runs to 3,364 bottles.
It continues the historic Trade Mark X as a sherry-led blend of malt and grain whiskies from ten casks. Eight had a one-year Oloroso sherry finish and two were refill hogsheads. It is non-chill-filtered and uncoloured.
Madeira cake, brandy-soaked raisins and roasted figs mark the nose, with sherry and peat smoke. Poached pears, salted plums and grilled pineapple meet oak and dark chocolate on the palate. The finish is long, with toffee, mandarin and balanced smoke.
