Jameson Irish Whiskey is a triple-distilled blended Irish whiskey from the New Midleton Distillery in County Cork, in a 750ml bottle at 40% ABV.
It combines column-distilled grain whiskey with copper pot still whiskey made from malted and unmalted barley. The barley is dried in a closed kiln fired by natural gas rather than peat, and the whiskey is aged in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks.
The nose is light and floral, with sweet orange peel, toffee and a gentle sherry note. The palate opens bright and citric before vanilla, fudge, honey and baking spice come through, and the finish is medium, warm and lightly spicy.
