Jameson Black Barrel (75cl, 40%)

Jameson Black Barrel is a triple-distilled Irish whiskey, bottled at 40% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It blends small-batch grain whiskey with single pot still whiskey and is made at the New Midleton Distillery in County Cork. The whiskey is matured in ex-bourbon barrels that are charred twice, a step that sets it apart from the standard Jameson, which uses single-charred casks. The nose is typically described as butterscotch, toffee, fudge and coconut, with pineapple and dried apricot. The palate shows caramelised toffee, honey-soaked fruit, dark chocolate and toasted wood. The finish is medium to long, with toasted oak, butterscotch and a gently smoky vanilla.
