Jameson 18 Year is an Irish whiskey from the New Midleton Distillery in County Cork, bottled at 46% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It blends single pot still and grain whiskey, all triple-distilled, and is aged for a minimum of 18 years in American bourbon barrels and European oak casks that previously held sherry.
After that primary maturation, the blend is married for at least six months in first-fill American oak barrels.
The nose brings spicy toffee, caramelised pineapple, chargrilled peach, butterscotch and hazelnut praline. On the palate there is toffee and vanilla, then baking spice, gentle sherry nuttiness and leather. The finish is long, with wood, spice and toffee and a light dryness.
