Jameson Irish Whiskey is a blend of pot still and grain whiskey from Midleton in County Cork, bottled at 40% ABV. It is matured in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, with only a light sherry influence.
The nose is soft and sweet, with vanilla, honey and caramel, hints of butter, orange peel and Christmas cake spices, and a touch of mint and cut grass. The palate is warm and smooth, with toffee, caramel, spice, sandalwood and a light char. With water, apple, pear and orange come forward. The finish is medium in length, clean, with gentle spice and a hint of choc-chip cookie sweetness.
