Jameson Signature Reserve 1780 is an Irish blended whiskey from Midleton in County Cork, bottled at 40% in a one-litre bottle. It pairs a high proportion of pot still whiskey with grain whiskey.
It was matured in American oak ex-bourbon barrels and Spanish oak oloroso sherry casks. The colour is a clear golden amber with burnished copper edges.
The nose is waxy and tropical, with red apple skin, linseed oil, sweet floral notes and a little spice. The palate is light, honeyed and fruity, with apple, cedar wood, creamy vanilla and dried fruit from the sherry casks. The finish is long, warm and sweet, with lingering apple.
