Jameson – Single Pot Still Five Oak Cask Release (70cl, 46%)

This is an Irish single pot still whiskey from Jameson, bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is distilled in the Irish tradition from both malted and unmalted barley, triple distilled and run through pot stills. The Five Oak Cask Release name refers to maturation in three types of cask: virgin oak, ex-bourbon and ex-sherry. The nose opens with cinnamon and nutmeg, toasted oak, honeycomb and salted caramel, followed by fudge, vanilla, earthy notes and ripe fruit. The palate is silky, with dark chocolate, spiced toffee, ginger and orange zest. The finish is delicate, with fruit, spice and oak.
