Jesse James Outlaw is a seven year old Kentucky straight bourbon from Preservation Distillery in Bardstown, part of its Outlaw series. It is bottled at 54.7% (109.4 proof) in a 750ml bottle.
The bourbon is pot distilled, aged in new charred American oak and made from a wheated mash bill. It is released in small batches of around three barrels.
The colour is deep amber. The nose shows caramel, toasted oak and vanilla bean with dark cherry and warm baking spice. The palate brings toffee, cinnamon, browned sugar, roasted nuts and seasoned oak with subtle stone fruit. The finish is long and warming, with lingering spice, caramelised sugars, charred oak and gentle fruit.
