John J. Bowman Pioneer Spirit Green Label is a limited edition single barrel Virginia straight bourbon, bottled at 100 proof, or 50% ABV, in a 75cl bottle. The bourbon commemorates the great, great uncle of Abram S. Bowman, who founded the A. Smith Bowman Distillery. The barrels are hand selected from among the oldest in the warehouse. The distillery points to toffee, leather, figs and almonds. The nose is described as crème brûlée, roasted plantain, brown bread and Maraschino cherries, and the palate as warm and spicy, with cappuccino, cinnamon and apple tart tatin.
