Johnny Drum Private Stock Kentucky Straight Bourbon (75cl, 50.5%)

Johnny Drum Private Stock is a Kentucky straight bourbon in a 75cl bottle, made in small batches at the Willett Distillery. It is the flagship of the Johnny Drum range, a sour mash bourbon bottled at cask strength, 101 proof (50.5%), and made by a method unchanged through five generations. It is a rich, mellow, old-school style of bourbon with a copper gold colour. The nose opens with a touch of shellac, then toffee apple, mixed nuts, clove and vanilla. The palate brings dried fruits, caramel, sweet spices and sandalwood, with a creamy yet mildly prickly mouthfeel. It finishes soft and dry, with vanilla oak, creme caramel and a hint of liquorice.
