Jura – 15 Year Old Sherry Cask (70cl, 42.5%)

A 15 year old single malt from the Isle of Jura, bottled at 42.5% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, then finished in Oloroso sherry casks from Jerez. The sherry finish adds dried fruit and spice to the island malt, with mellow smoke and soft fruit running through it. The nose brings dark chocolate, roasted coffee beans and dried fruits, with a hint of sea breeze and caramel. On the palate there is toffee, fig and orange peel, with spice and toasted oak. The finish is long, with cinnamon, nutmeg and honeyed fruit, and a touch of island smoke.
