Jura Seven Wood is a single malt from the Isle of Jura, bottled at 42% in a 70cl bottle.
It is matured in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels and then finished in six types of French oak: Limousin, Troncais, Allier, Vosges, Jupilles and Les Bertranges. Between them the seven woods account for the name.
The nose offers almond croissants, apricot jam, subtle spice and charred oak. The palate is silky and round, with mango, banana bread, ginger snaps and spiced toffee, lifted by a soft wave of smoke. The finish is long, with oak spices, mocha, liquorice and dry cocoa.
