This is a 17 year old Japanese single malt from the closed Karuizawa distillery, bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society as cask 132.4. It was distilled in 1996 and bottled in 2013. The whisky was drawn from a single refill butt, and 346 bottles were filled. Karuizawa built its reputation on richly textured, complex malts, many of which gained depth from sherry cask maturation.
