This Karuizawa is a single sherry cask whisky, distilled in 1981 and bottled in 2012 after 31 years of maturation. Cask #8800 was a sherry oak barrel, and the whisky was bottled at a natural cask strength of 64.8% in a 70cl bottle.
It was bottled by Number One Drinks Company, custodians of much of the Karuizawa archive. The Japanese distillery closed in 2000 and has since been demolished.
