Karuizawa – 1964/2012 48 Year Old Cask #3603 (70cl, 57.7%)

This is a 48 year old single cask Karuizawa, distilled in 1964 and bottled in 2012 by Number One Drinks at a cask strength of 57.7% ABV. It matured in a sherry cask, number 3603, and 143 numbered bottles were filled. It came from one of the last 1960s casks at Karuizawa to survive until 2012. When it was released, it was the oldest Karuizawa bottled and the oldest Japanese single cask whisky. Each bottle was supplied with a booklet about the distillery.
