Karuizawa – 1981/2014 33 Year Old Artifices Series (70cl, 55.3%)

This is a Karuizawa single malt distilled in March 1981 and bottled in July 2014 after 33 years in a single sherry cask, number 136. It was bottled at cask strength, 55.3% ABV, in the Artifices Series for La Maison du Whisky. The label carries artwork by Singapore artist Warren Khong, and the release was 595 bottles of 70cl. Karuizawa is a Japanese distillery that operated from the mid-1950s until it closed in 2011.
