Karuizawa – 1984 28 Year Old SMWS 132.1 Secret Moonlit Garden Dram (70cl, 59.9%)

This is a 28 year old Karuizawa single malt from Japan, distilled on 30 August 1984 and matured in a single refill ex-sherry butt. The Scotch Malt Whisky Society bottled it at 59.9% ABV, with an outturn of 229 bottles. The Society named it Secret Moonlit Garden Dram. Its cask reference, 132.1, marks it as the first Karuizawa cask the Society bottled. Karuizawa is a closed distillery in Nagano Prefecture, where production ceased in 2000.
