Karuizawa – 1984 Single Sherry Cask 30 Year Old Samurai (70cl, 55.4%)

This is a single cask Karuizawa from the Samurai series, which takes its inspiration from the military class of feudal Japan. The whisky was distilled in 1984 and matured for 30 years in a sherry cask, number 3139, before bottling in 2014 at 55.4% ABV. It comes in a 70cl bottle. The spirit was made with Golden Promise barley, and 494 bottles were produced. Sherry maturation and the barley are credited with its rich, complex flavour.
