Karuizawa – 1988 Great Cask Series (58.3%)

This is a 1988 vintage from the Karuizawa distillery in Japan, bottled in 2007 from a single cask at a cask strength of 58.3% ABV. It was bottled specially for the Dutch market as part of the Great Cask Series, in an outturn of 120 bottles. Karuizawa closed its doors in 2011, though it had not produced whisky for over a decade before that.
