This Karuizawa single malt was selected and bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society as 132.4, under the title Rich, Brooding and Suggestive. It was distilled on 8 July 1996 at the Karuizawa distillery in Nagano Prefecture, now closed, and bottled in 2013 at 17 years old.
The whisky matured in a refill butt and is bottled at 61.7% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The outturn was 346 bottles. Karuizawa ceased production in 2000.
